Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information Confinia collects through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Last updated: September 26, 2026
1. Who we are
Confinia ("Confinia", "we", "us", or "our") operates the website at confinia.ai and the associated waitlist for our private beta. Confinia builds an AI agent that writes, deploys, and operates software inside a customer's own Amazon Web Services (AWS) account.
This policy covers information we collect through this website — primarily our waitlist sign-up forms. It is the data controller for the personal information described here. If you become a beta customer, additional terms and a supplementary data-processing notice will apply to how the agent operates within your AWS account.
2. Information we collect
We only collect the information you choose to give us, plus a limited amount of technical data needed to run the site securely. We do not sell your personal information.
Information you provide (waitlist forms)
When you request access or join the waitlist, we collect:
- Email address — so we can contact you about beta access.
- Company size — the headcount band you select (e.g. 1–10, 11–50, 51–200, 200+).
- "First app" description — the free-text note describing the software you would want to build. Please do not include confidential, sensitive, or personal information about others in this field.
Information collected automatically
When you load the site, standard technical data is processed by our hosting and content-delivery infrastructure, including your IP address, browser type and version, device and operating-system information, referring page, and the date and time of your request. This data is used for security, abuse prevention, and to keep the site reliable.
The site also embeds a demo video hosted on YouTube. When that player loads, Google may set cookies and receive your IP address and viewing information under its own privacy policy. See "Third parties" below.
What we do not collect here
This website does not ask for payment details, and it does not connect to or access your AWS account. Creating a cross-account AWS role only happens later, inside the product, after you have been onboarded and have reviewed the permissions and terms that apply at that stage.
3. How we use your information
| Purpose | Data used | Legal basis (UK/EU GDPR) |
|---|---|---|
| Manage the waitlist and contact you about beta access | Email, company size, first-app note | Legitimate interests; steps taken at your request prior to a contract |
| Prioritise and shape the product for early design partners | Company size, first-app note | Legitimate interests |
| Operate, secure, and troubleshoot the website | Technical/log data | Legitimate interests |
| Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms | As relevant | Legal obligation; legitimate interests |
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we balance those interests against your rights and only process what is proportionate. Where the law requires consent (for example, certain cookies), we ask for it first.
4. How we share information
We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the waitlist and website, and only for the purposes above. These providers process data on our behalf under contract and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. They include:
- Cloud hosting and content delivery (Amazon Web Services) — to host this site and its supporting functions.
- Email delivery — to send you the messages you have asked to receive.
- Video hosting (YouTube / Google) — the embedded demo player, if you play it.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to respond to lawful requests from public authorities, to protect the rights, safety, and security of Confinia and others, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (in which case we will notify you of any material change).
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
5. International transfers
Our website and waitlist are hosted in the United States. If you access the site from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed there. Where we transfer personal information out of the UK or European Economic Area, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK Addendum) to protect it.
6. How long we keep it
We keep waitlist information for as long as needed to evaluate and onboard beta participants, and afterwards only as long as necessary for the purposes described above or to meet legal obligations. If you ask us to delete your waitlist entry, or you tell us you are no longer interested, we will remove it promptly except where we must retain limited records for legal or security reasons. Technical server logs are kept for a short period and then deleted or aggregated.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights over your personal information:
- Access a copy of the information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Delete your information ("right to be forgotten").
- Object to or restrict certain processing, including processing based on legitimate interests.
- Request portability of information you provided to us.
- Withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it (without affecting prior processing).
To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@confinia.ai. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. You can also unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in each message. If you are in the UK or EEA and believe we have not handled your information properly, you may lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. If you are a California resident, you may exercise your rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of "sale" or "sharing" (we do neither), and we will not discriminate against you for doing so.
8. Cookies and analytics
The confinia.ai waitlist site uses only the cookies strictly necessary to serve and secure the page. We do not set advertising cookies. If you play the embedded demo video, YouTube may set its own cookies on your device under Google's privacy policy; you can avoid these by not starting the video. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings.
9. Security
We use technical and organisational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and the principle of least privilege for the systems that handle waitlist data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information and to address issues promptly if they arise.
10. Children
This is a business product and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product and our practices evolve. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify waitlist members by email. Your continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
