Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of the confinia.ai website, our waitlist, and — if you are admitted — the Confinia private beta. Please read them carefully. By using the site or joining the waitlist, you agree to them.

1. Who we are and what these terms cover
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Confinia ("Confinia", "we", "us", or "our"). They apply to:
- The website at confinia.ai, including the informational pages and the embedded demo video.
- The waitlist, where you can request access to our private beta.
- The private beta of the Confinia product — an AI agent that writes code, provisions infrastructure, wires identity, deploys, and reads back logs inside your own Amazon Web Services (AWS) account — for those who are admitted.
The website and waitlist are open to everyone within these Terms. The private beta is available only to participants we admit and is subject to the additional beta terms in Section 6. If you use the site on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorised to accept these Terms for that company.
2. Eligibility
Confinia is a business product and is not directed to consumers or children. You must be at least 16 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to use the site or join the waitlist. If you use Confinia in connection with your work, you must have your employer's authorisation to do so.
3. The waitlist
Joining the waitlist is a request to be considered for the private beta — it is not a guarantee of access, and it does not create a contract to provide the product. When you join, you provide your email address, your company-size band, and an optional description of the first app you would build. Please do not include confidential information, or personal information about other people, in the free-text field.
We use this information to manage the waitlist and to prioritise and shape the beta, as described in our Privacy Policy. You can ask us to remove you from the waitlist at any time by emailing hello@confinia.ai.
4. Acceptable use
When you use the website or waitlist, you agree not to:
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information, or impersonate another person or organisation.
- Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its infrastructure, or other users' data.
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the site, or defeat any security or authentication measures, without our prior written permission.
- Use automated means to scrape, harvest, or overload the site, or send spam or malicious content through our forms.
- Use the site to violate any applicable law, or to infringe the rights of others.
We may suspend or remove access, and remove submitted content, if we reasonably believe these Terms have been broken.
5. Intellectual property in the site
The confinia.ai website, its content, design, and the Confinia name and logo are owned by Confinia or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive licence to view the site for its intended purpose. These Terms do not transfer any ownership in the site or our brand to you.
If you send us feedback, ideas, or suggestions — including through the "first app" field or during the beta — you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use them to operate and improve Confinia, without any obligation to you. You keep any rights you already have in your own materials.
6. Private beta terms
If you are admitted to the private beta, the following terms apply to your use of the product, in addition to the rest of these Terms.
How the product works
The Confinia agent operates inside your own AWS account. You grant it access by creating a cross-account IAM role using a CloudFormation stack that we provide. You can review every permission before you deploy it, and you can revoke the role at any time. Your application, its infrastructure, and its data live in your AWS account — not ours. Confinia stores your source code (so your projects stay portable) and project metadata.
Your responsibilities
- Your AWS account. You are responsible for your AWS account, its security, its configuration, and everything the agent creates or changes within it while acting under the role you granted.
- Your data and code. You are responsible for the lawfulness of the code, data, and instructions you provide, and for having the rights to use them.
- Review before you deploy. The agent produces code and infrastructure automatically. You are responsible for reviewing what it proposes and for deciding what to deploy and run in your account.
- Backups. You are responsible for maintaining your own backups of anything you cannot afford to lose.
Beta nature
The beta is provided for evaluation and is offered "as is". It may be incomplete, may change, and may contain errors. Features may be added, changed, or removed, and the beta may be suspended or ended, at any time. Do not rely on the beta for production-critical workloads without your own safeguards.
Ownership and portability
You own your project. It keeps running in your AWS account without Confinia, and you can continue developing it on your own. If your beta access ends, this Section's ownership and portability provisions, and Sections 5, 8, 9, 10, and 12, continue to apply as relevant.
7. Fees, third-party costs, and taxes
Confinia is free during the current private beta — we do not charge for the product at this stage. You pay only for what you use directly and are billed separately for it, including:
- Your AWS bill — for the resources the agent provisions and runs in your account, billed to you by AWS.
- AI tokens — the model usage consumed on your behalf.
We do not mark up these costs. You are responsible for monitoring and controlling your own AWS usage and spend. We may introduce fees for the product in the future; if we do, we will give you notice and the chance to decide before any charge applies to you.
8. Third-party services
The site and product rely on third parties, including Amazon Web Services (hosting and the account where your product runs), an email-delivery provider, YouTube/Google (the embedded demo video), and the AI model providers whose tokens power the agent. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and policies, and we are not responsible for them. Your relationship with AWS for your own account is directly between you and AWS.
9. Disclaimers
The website, the waitlist, and the beta are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site or product will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any code or infrastructure the agent generates will be correct, complete, or fit for your purpose. You are responsible for reviewing and testing what you deploy. Nothing in these Terms excludes any warranty or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Confinia will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to the site, the waitlist, or the beta. This includes, without limitation, any AWS charges, AI-token costs, or other consequences arising from actions the agent takes in your AWS account under the access you granted.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these Terms, the site, and the beta will not exceed one hundred US dollars (US$100). These limitations apply even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose, and they reflect the allocation of risk in a free private beta.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Confinia from any claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the site or beta, your violation of these Terms, your violation of any law or third-party right, or the code, data, and instructions you provide to the agent.
12. Suspension and termination
You can stop using the site at any time, ask to be removed from the waitlist, and — in the beta — revoke the agent's access to your AWS account at any time by removing the cross-account role. We may suspend or end your access to the site or the beta at any time, with or without notice, including if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms or to protect the site, our users, or third parties. Because your project runs in your own AWS account, ending your Confinia access does not by itself stop your deployed application.
13. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through the site and how we use it, and forms part of these Terms.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as the product and our practices evolve. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify waitlist members by email. Your continued use of the site or beta after an update means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the site and, in the beta, revoke the agent's access.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the state and federal courts located in Delaware will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, subject to any mandatory consumer or local-law protections that apply to you. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest will remain in effect.
